Below here is a brief summary of myself and I hope it will help you understand my experiences, skills and character:

I am the only executive in the "consumed media" department at CPXi Malaysia. Working under the FeedMe Malaysia title, I have acted as a writer, brand guardian, strategist, analyst, video & photographer, visual designer, video editor, and recently, I have been promoted to an editor for the online publication.

​

As the only writer in the department, I have successfully grown FeedMe Malaysia into an unshunnable online publication in Malaysia with 4 million page views over the past year and article postings have over 13 million reach on social media—all achieved with a low budget as commanded by our regional director, John Chen. I have written 9 sponsored articles for the company.

​

When writing about politics and social issues, I make sure FeedMe Malaysia stands out from our competitors. I achieve that by doing extensive research to deliver sufficient context for our readers so that they would leave our site understanding the issue unreservedly. You can view my comprehensive articles here.

When trying to entertain our readers, I craft quirky headlines or spin the issue in a creative way to spark new conversations in Malaysia. Most of which are original angles that other local media do not cover them the same way as I do.

 

From my work, you will realize that I will go the distance to translate Chinese and Malay-centric stories into English because I know other media would not put in the same effort, thus creating a content gab where I come to fill in.

I am very passionate when it comes to writing social progression, social issues and films. And here is a list of articles I am proud of and topics I'm passionate about.

I also possess videography and editing skills. I have produced more than 10 videos during my stint in FeedMe Malaysia, many of which have gone viral locally. Initially shot with only my smartphone, my work has convinced the company to invest in a DSLR camera so that we can create better video content.

​

My miscellaneous skills were acquired when I was working in J Walter Thompson, a creative agency, where the job required me to produce photo/videographic content. It is through various social media strategist jobs, freelance or full-time, I am able to perform media buys, understand digital analytics, create compelling content and build up the brand.

​

As for my freelance venture, I was even hired to manage a video shooting trip to Osaka, Japan in early 2018. I was hired through a local freelance website and was able to convince the client with my trenchant social media strategy that eventually granted me to head the project. The project, Chef Ling Malaysia, was to create teaser videos about the chef and his imminent return to the country.
